“What’s wrong?” Kelsea Ballerini wanted to know, stopping mid-performance to address some fans who were shouting to get her attention.

Ballerini searched around her as the concertgoers kept calling to her, “there’s a sock!” Sure enough, the award-winning country artist searched the fringes of her outfit and discovered a gray sock tangled in them. Ballerini plucked the sock from the shimmering fringes and held it up for the audience to see, saying into the mic, “I feel like Sully from Monsters Inc. There’s a sock in my jacket!”

Ballerini continued to make lighthearted jokes and laugh for a moment before continuing the performance of her heartfelt ballad, “half of my hometown.” She wrote in her caption as she shared the clip on her social media channels: “the quick change mishaps continue with #sockgate #heartfirsttour 💀”

TikTok users loved the unexpected onstage moment, writing in the comments, writing, “SULLY😂💀 the girls yelling the 2319 in the background has me cackling 😂😂😂,” “Kelsea!!!!!!! You’re so relatable I love it,” and more. Ballerini even responded to some of the TikTok commenters, including one who asked whether she was only wearing one sock at the time. Ballerini said it’s “hard to say, those changes are like 30 seconds so anything goes hahaha.” She also responded to a commenter who added a Harry Potter reference: “KELSEA IS A FREE ELF,” he wrote, and she replied: “INDEED.”

Ballerini is in the midst of the latest leg of her “HEARTFIRST Tour,” named after the hit single from her latest full-length album, Subject To Change. Another round of tour dates is set for this summer. Watch Ballerini's TikTok here, and see the rest of her tour dates below.
