Lainey Wilson revealed new details about her highly-anticipated Whirlwind album on Tuesday morning (June 25). The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year will release another song from the 14-track record on the Fourth of July.

“4x4xU,” which Wilson wrote with Jon Decious and Aaron Raitiere, is the third track that will release from Whirlwind, following the anthem that inspired the title of Wilson’s ongoing headlining tour, “Country’s Cool Again,” and “Hang Tight Honey.” Wilson also posted the full Whirlwind track list on Tuesday, revealing new music on the way with longtime collaborators and one duet with Texas-born country star Miranda Lambert. Wilson and Lambert performed “Good Horses” for the first time together on stage in Las Vegas, where Wilson played her “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” shows and Lambert performed her residency, Velvet Rodeo.

Wilson said that writing and recording Whirlwind’s 14 songs “over the past couple of years has helped me stay grounded in ways you’d never believe. This album brought me back to my roots and made me feel at home during times when I couldn’t have been further away and my biggest hope is that it gives you that same sense of comfort that it has for me.”

This album has been a long time coming and I can’t wait for the world to have this body of work in their hands soon,” Wilson said in a statement when she announced Whirlwind, produced by Grammy Award winner Jay Joyce, last month. “This new chapter of music is the most cathartic and personal piece of art I’ve ever made. I hope this record brings some peace to your whirlwind and wraps its arms around you like it did for me.”

Whirlwind follows Wilson’s award-winning album, Bell Bottom Country, which arrived in October 2022. That project, which scored Wilson her first Grammy Award, included “Heart Like A Truck,” “Watermelon Moonshine” and “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” among other highlights. She expanded the original 14-track album with two new additions — “Smell Like Smoke” and “New Friends” — after making her acting debut on Yellowstone.

Wilson will release Whirlwind on August 23.
