Carrie Underwood is slated to deliver a powerhouse headlining performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025.
Underwood confirmed on Thursday (December 5) that she’s performing at the legendary New Year’s Eve celebration at Times Square in New York City. She’ll join longtime American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, who is hosting the New Year’s Eve celebration for his 20th year. Seacrest crowned Underwood the winner of the show in 2005, and is reuniting with her as she returns as a judge for the first time next season. Underwood joins returning judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie in the upcoming season that’s set to premiere on March 9. The star-studded New Year’s Eve show will also include co-host Rita Ora, Puerto Rico co-host Dayanara Torres, Megan Moroney and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Previously-announced performers also include Lenny Kravitz, Teddy Swims, Tinashe, Cody Johnson and Thomas Rhett.
“I have such fun memories of performing on New Year's Rockin’ Eve in Times Square in both 2007 and 2015, and I’m so excited to perform just before the ball drops again this year,” Underwood said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to celebrate 20 years since winning ‘American Idol’ by joining Ryan as he hosts his 20th New Year’s Eve in Times Square.”
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025 will air live on ABC on Tuesday, December 31, beginning at 8 p.m. EST. The show will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
