Miranda Lambert celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut record with a themed drag show at a Texas bar.
Lambert headed to Austin, Texas, where her brother, Luke Lambert, “put on a Miranda-themed drag show” in honor of Kerosene’s latest milestone. The most awarded artist in Academy of Country Music history said she had the “BEST. NIGHT. EVER,” she wrote in her caption on Instagram as she shared photos over the weekend.
“(Luke Lambert) started building my website and running my fan club when he was 13, and still does that today,” Lambert added. “Celebrating 20 years of Kerosene at one of his favorite spots with all of his best friends was the most perfect way to honor the road this record has taken us on.”
Lambert thanked “all the incredible Queens,” the venue and others “for sharing your hearts and art with us. Y’all even did the deep cuts!!! 🌈💖🔥” fellow artists Tenille Townes, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and others commented on Lambert’s post, calling it an “iconic” moment. Luke Lambert said he “had a blast” organizing the celebration.
Lambert released her debut studio album, Kerosene, on March 15, 2005. She extended the 12-track record with a 13th song to celebrate the 20th anniversary earlier this year. the new Kerosene edition included “I Don’t Love Here Anymore,” which Lambert wrote and recorded two decades ago.
