Megan Moroney revealed the release date of an anthem she recently teased on TikTok.

The reigning Country Music Association New Artist of the Year confirmed on Thursday (June 12) that the song will arrive on Friday, June 20. She posted two photos with the caption, “your next girlfriend will be so lucky!” Moroney poses with a bedazzled phone in the first photo, and the second snapshot shows a notepad next to the phone that reads “6 months later.”

Moroney shared a sneak peek of the unreleased song on TikTok earlier this month. The lyrics set the scene of a “dramatic” breakup that she “survived,” only to receive a call from her ex six months after the split:

“Let me set you the scene/ November circa 2019/ Put a hole in my heart, watched it bleed/ You said that we were better off as strangers/ I was barely alive/ Out of 6 feet deep I was 5/ Pretty sure they called a hearse outside/ OK that’s dramatic, but I survived/ Then I survived…
“The ‘hey Meg, I think I want you back’/ ‘I’m a couple drinks in thinking it’s my bad that I let you walk away and let you go’/ It’s a tale as old as time I guess/ When you couldn’t care more I couldn’t care less/ You’re a little too late to the party, heartbreaker/ What doesn’t kill you calls you 6 months later”

This will be Moroney’s latest song to release since “You Had To Be There,” a collaboration with country superstar Kenny Chesney. Her latest full studio record is Am I Okay?, following the singer-songwriter’s powerful debut with Lucky in 2023. See the sneak peek of “6 Months Later” again here:
