Chaos unfolded at Miami International Airport early Tuesday (September 2) when Alvina Omisiri Agba, a 23-year-old woman from England, allegedly snatched a four-year-old boy from his mother at a checkpoint. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, Agba approached the mother and her crying child, offering to help soothe him. After the mother handed over the child, Agba reportedly walked away, insisting the boy was hers.

The mother followed Agba and demanded her child back. Agba allegedly wrapped her arms and legs around the boy to prevent him from moving and pushed the mother away. Witness Naylet Montano, who was nearby, intervened by grabbing the child and running behind a counter for safety. Montano, a mother herself, told WBFS, "I realized the boy was in danger. I grabbed him and ran." Three men stood between Montano and Agba, preventing further attempts to take the child.

Agba fled but was later arrested at another checkpoint. She told deputies that she believed she was helping the child and claimed, "God told her to do it." Authorities said she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.

Agba was charged with interference with custody and two counts of battery. She was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a $3,500 bond.
