Before you book your next trip make sure it includes travel insurance. Imagine booking a trip you have been dying to take for a year only to cancel at the last minute because someone got Covid or you had a family emergency. This is where travel insurance comes in.

There are four common types of travel insurance:

  • Medical
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation
  • Trip cancellation and delay
  • Cancel for any reason

Much like car insurance, travel insurance will cover various issues but you have to ask questions and yes you may pay more. One common misconception about travel insurance is that it will cover all changes and cancellations. As with any insurance purchase-ask questions and do your homework. Have you ever cancelled a trip at the last minute after everything was paid for?
