Randall King paid tribute to legendary country star Randy Travis with a cover of his classic country ballad, āForever and Ever, Amen.ā
Travis, 66, released the timeless country song on his 1987 studio album, Always & Forever. It remains one of the most well-known hits of the Country Music Hall of Fame Memberās decades-long career, along with āDeeper Than the Holler,ā āOn the Other Hand,ā āI Told You Soā and more. King, a West Texas-born country artist, delivered his rendition of āForever and Ever, Amenā on a recent episode of Godās Country, hosted by brothers Dan and Reid Isbell. Dan and Reid shared a clip of the cover on Instagram, and King commented that he had a āheckuva timeā on the show.
āThis week Reid and Dan host a true Texan and country music star, Randall King, out in God's Country. Randall starts the show by exposing a fun hobby about himself most people don't know and the guys have a field day with it. The three of them cover dove hunting tactics and the unorthodox way Randall's family goes about Jug fishing at his family reunions. King struggles to give his Texas Country Music Mount Rushmore and they all dive in on how Pure Country is one of the greatest movies of all time. The episode ends with a gravorite that only could be pulled off by Randall King himself.ā
Dan and Reid ā who have written music forĀ Luke Combs,Ā Miranda Lambert,Ā Scotty McCreery,Ā Jon Pardi,Ā Lainey WilsonĀ and others ā started their weekly podcast in early January 2024. Some of the first guests to appear on the show includeĀ HARDY,Ā Dustin Lynch,Ā Colbie CaillatĀ and others.
āOne of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,āĀ Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement whenĀ Godās CountryĀ launched.Ā They hope to ābring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre ā a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We canāt wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.ā
